Self Energy has been appointed by Nuqul Group, one of the Middle East's leading industrial groups, to lead an audit of potential energy savings within its head office and 8 of its major factories.
The initial site visit for the two-stage audit was completed together with Nakhil Company, a leading distributor for energy saving products, which could signal a future partnership between Nakhil and Self Energy Group on other engagements in the Middle East.
The team have established a set of "quick win" energy saving initiatives that can be completed within one month before the end of 2009. The Self Energy team identified substantial savings that could be achieved in such a short time frame, with 60% of these savings coming from lighting initiatives and the remainder from new installations and HVAC filter changes. The engagement also established more long-term solutions through Heat Recovery systems, co-generation and dynamic motor controllers, some of which the team found could potentially save Nuqul Group up to 30% in cut energy bills.
The next stage of the engagement will be to complete a detailed audit in the Stage 1 facilities as well as additional sites in Egypt and Dubai, which will then create the forward plan for implementation onsite.
Paul Lewis, CEO of Self Energy UK, says, "It is very exciting to see such initiatives and the Self Energy UK team's experience being used elsewhere in the Middle East, and we are honoured to have been selected by Nuqul as their energy service partner."
Miguel Matias, CEO of Self Energy Group, adds, "The depth of skills and experience that the partnership between Self Energy Group and Nakhil can provide will in time lead to much greater long-term benefits for Nuqul Group - and of course many other organisations in the Middle East, one of the major pillars of the Self Energy Group’s internationalisation plan."
