The Self Energy UK Management Team

Paul Lewis is a director of Self Energy UK and International Commercial Director of Self Energy Group. He was the main driver of the collaboration with E.ON Sustainable Energy Solutions and now, in addition to his UK role, is tasked with expanding the business in the Middle East and North Africa.

Prior to the launch of Self Energy UK, Paul worked as the Regional Director for Self Energy in Portugal. Previous to this, his career has covered a wide variety of energy related disciplines: Paul launched Energy IQ (part of the IQPC group) and grew the division through consultation, research and training for both major and independent energy businesses throughout Europe and North America. Paul steered the business into the expanding markets of energy efficiency and renewables.

Paul has also held a range of technical and consultative roles within the UK, including project management and test and development roles within JCB Excavators Ltd. This included a successful building service upgrade of the Global Research Facility.

Paul is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and holds a Masters of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath.

With a strong professional energy network in London, he has a passion for the clean-energy sector and for launching and developing business units; he is committed to delivering energy and carbon savings for the UK’s built environment through Self Energy, one of fastest growing Energy Savings Companies in Europe.

Miguel is the founder and CEO of the Self Energy Group and Energia Propria, and CEO of Self Energy UK. His business credentials include being energy consultant to Deloitte and Accenture, CEO and Founder of FastAccess, a successful online and mobile service company for drivers within Portugal, which is a joint venture between Brisa, the Portugal Highway Company, and CGD, the largest bank in Portugal.

Miguel successfully launched the Innovation Academy across Galp Energia, commercialising seed ideas from within the organisation. He also launched Galp Mobile, which is a global partnership between Microsoft and Windows Mobile with information for drivers.

Miguel is also a Board Member of Forumb2b.com, an energy marketplace between Galp Energia and EDP.

Joao is International Operations Director for Self Energy Group and Director of Self Energy Engineering & Innovation S.A. His work for Self Energy includes leading technical analysis and implementation of numerous energy performance contracts and consultancy.

Joao has held several technical, operational and management roles over his career. Previous positions include gas network (grid) designer in GASMED - Inspec?ß?£o e An?°lise de Projectos de G?°s, Lda, technical maintenance and building management posts with Mercator - Soc. Imobili?°ria, Lda and operations manager with Integrated Maintenance Management, Lda (Mercator Group) as well Head of Property Management for Knight Frank Portugal. Prior to joining Self Energy, he was Operations Director for Dolce Vita Shopping Centres, Group Chamartin Imobili?°ria.

Joao has a great deal of experience in small scale generation across the Portuguese and African markets and has been working on photovoltaic rooftop projects throughout Europe.
