Decentralised Energy can result in substantial financial and carbon savings. By partnering with Self Energy through an Energy Performance Guarantee the energy user can implement the Decentralised Energy equipment at potentially zero cost. However, where there is the capital availability there may be a preference to utilise Self Energy for the design stages.
The design stage consists of the following stages:
To evaluate the financial, environmental and strategic benefits of decentralised energy generation, and to unearth potential constraints. This will consist of site visits, analysis of existing or projected energy data, usage profiles and future plant or fabric modifications.
Outputs from the feasibility study include: Project NPV, IRR, economic paybacks and carbon paybacks.
Following the feasibility stage, a full specification of the optimal system requirements is created taking into account all considerations including asset sizing, infrastructure, location, operation and maintenance requirements, synchronisation with existing energy systems. This process leads into the finalised design ready for procurement and implementation.
