Q. How is it possible that Self Energy will invest in the majority of the capital cost required, and I take a guaranteed saving?

A. Self Energy will work in partnership with you to maximise your reduction in energy expenditure and carbon footprint. An agreed level of saving will be agreed and stated within the partnership agreement. This allows the project to pay for its saving and the client to receive the guaranteed saving over the partnership period, and allows the client to remove the technical and operational risk of the project.

Q. What happens if my energy requirements change during the partnership period?

A. It is natural that the energy requirements and energy consuming equipment within a building may change over a period of time. For example, a hotel may construct a new heated swimming pool, which will require more energy input or equally a university may sell a part of a building and therefore its energy requirement will fall. These likely changes are reflected in the Self Energy Energy Performance Guarantee, and options will be discussed and agreed in the case of this change in energy requirements.

Q. What happens if I want to involve a particular technology within the solution?

A. Self Energy has the flexibility to involve a wide range of energy efficiency and decentralised energy technologies in order to reach the desired results. If there is no preference in technology application, then Self Energy will propose the optimal system to achieve maximum reduction on energy expenditure and carbon footprint. If there is a particular requirement to utilise a particular technology, the Self Energy Energy Performance Guarantee can flex to include a technology with a successful performance contract.

Q. What happens at the end of the Self Energy Energy Performance Guarantee?

A. At the end of the partnership, the equipment that has been used to reduce the energy expenditure and carbon footprint will be transferred wholly to the client. Therefore the client can move forward and take the full benefit of the equipment for the rest of its operating life. However, there is the option, if the client wishes, for Self Energy to work with the client in order to operate, maintain, upgrade and modify the energy performance equipment.
